Hello,
I see a lot of threads for various mmorpgs. I have been into this genre of game since 2014, when I was a young child. My main game has always been a game called Mabinogi. I think it's an excellent game, but it definitely has a learning curve. I would like to find similar games to it, but with more cosmetics. Please use this thread to talk about other games, either Nexon or not, and feel free to talk about all things mmorpgs :-)
I was reminded of Maple Story 2 the other day and I miss it, the only other MMO than Ragnarok Online that I enjoyed

I was lured back in the day. Lost a santa in edge wilderness near slayer master. Told me to wear rune armor, which I thought was odd, but he was offering a deal I could not pass up. Went with my santa and rune plate/top/helm and got pked instantly. I was devastated. I had nearly 20M and was going to purchase a yellow phat. I kid you not, I was getting ready to buy one, and the follow day/week a massive bot ban happened and many phats were deleted from the game. They pumped and I lost my chance forever. I would merch yew logs at varrock west. It is how I initially learned my love for markets and trading value. I love runescape so much it is insane.

there is something unmatched with 00s mmo. specifically, RO has more soul than any other game i've played.
the blend of beautiful 2D sprites and 3D assets. the retro futurism of the UI. the OST and sound design are top tier. the whimsical and bombastic monster design.

RO is the only MMO I've seriously played
I did a super novice build on a server that had better drop rates, still a lonely grind. I actually made an account somewhere and played a few hours earlier this year, lovely aesthetic
I only played RO for the first time bout a year ago and honestly i thought it was really cozy. Alot of the classes are super fun to play and I got addicted to the grind

Anyone played this back in the day? one of my favorites still! Despite dated graphics its so cozy (also there is a remake in the works on steam!)
remember playing this in computer class circa 2005. its not great
i never played it back in the day but recently learned about it. THe vibe is insanely cozy. Conjures something ineffable that I will put into words eventually.
